Protein for weight loss

If your goal is specific fat loss and you are following a hypo-caloric diet then every calorie counts. The aim here is muscle-sparing, so a lean clean protein source with as little carbs as possible is the way forward. Straight to the point, either choose a pure whey isolate source, a very low carb whey (isolate & concentrate) or a pure muti-sourced protein (this is the most effective at anti-catabolism as it ensures your muscles are always being supplied with a steady stream of amino acids i.e. the muscles are never starved!) Examples include: Reflex MicroWhey, Reflex Instant Whey, Extreme Whey, Extreme Pro-6 and Reflex Peptide Fusion. The purest and most lean of all is the Reflex MicroWhey. Since ectomorphs generally have no issue with weight loss, this section mainly applies to those with an endomorphic genome. Lastly, remember the importance of fats, especially essential fatty acids (EFAs). A nice blend of supplements to consume on a daily basis is: Evening Primrose Oil (source of GLA) & Reflex Krill Oil (source of bioavailable EPA and DHA Omega Fats). Because your body is in a semi-catabolic state a strong antioxidant and MutiVit complex is recommended e.g. Reflex AOC, Reflex ALA & Reflex Nexgen.

Protein for Weight Transfer / Muscle Toning

Very similar to the above for weight loss and all previously mentioned proteins apply. However, if your macro-nutrient diet is “carb & fat restricted”, then there is scope for higher calorie protein sources which have additional calories from carbs or fats.
